In The Beginning

Apologies for not having a real film scanner but here is one of my earliest photos. In this modern world of impermanence it is strange to find an artifact that is largely as it was 40 years ago. I remember it being a better photo than it apparently is but it did win some kind of prize at the local county fair. To be fair, animal husbandry was a lot more competitive than fine arts where I grew up so my competition was likely low in number. Still it shows the early start and I did develop this myself. It does make me wonder what “unsafe” film is all about.

    1. I am intrigued by medium format. One thing I didn’t really think about until recently is that film is a simplified in that you really only need to develop the film which means you don’t really need a darkroom anymore.
